GPT-6 Pro flags supposed errors in academic papers during routine work

AISummary

Ethan Mollick says GPT-6 Pro regularly finds supposed errors in academic papers as part of other tasks. He says confirming those errors and judging their importance still takes substantial time, though that will speed up. He adds that current mechanisms are not equipped to handle a flood of corrections.

GPT-6 Pro finds supposed errors in academic papers all the time, just as part of other work. Confirming the errors & learning their importance would still take a lot of time today, but it will get faster. We don't have the right mechanisms in place to deal a flood of corrections.
