AI Companies Really, Really Want to Buy Your Work Files and Emails
AIWired reports that data acquisition startups such as Handshake, Mercor, and Micro1 are paying companies and individuals for professional documents, emails, and workflow records to train AI models. Mercor CEO Brendan Foody says personal identifying information is stripped out before delivery, while Anthropic says it does not buy workflow from live companies like Wired.
