Anthropic outlines election safeguards for the 2026 US midterms

Anthropic says about 5.75% of US Claude.ai conversations touch on politics and about 0.51% concern elections or voting.

Ahead of the midterms, Claude will show state-specific official voting information from Democracy Works and display election results on election night.

Anthropic also reports new classifiers for multi-step election misuse and says it banned accounts involved in fabricated midterm news coverage.
