South Korea targets a sovereign AI model with 4.7 trillion won in record 2027 budget
AISouth Korean President Lee Jae Myung unveiled a record 2027 budget of 820.9 trillion won ($610.14 billion), up 12.8%, with 21.3 trillion won for semiconductors, physical AI and AI data centers. The budget includes 4.7 trillion won to develop a sovereign AI model, which Lee described as having the "world's highest performance."
