China's AI boom and chip self-sufficiency drive earnings surge at local chip firms

Yuanjie Semiconductor Technology expects third-quarter net profit of 403 million to 453 million yuan, up 579% to 660% from a year earlier, as data-centre demand drives shipments.

GPU designer MetaX, listed in Shanghai, says it turned a profit in the first nine months on more orders. Other Chinese chip and tech firms have flagged growth of up to six-fold in unaudited third-quarter profits.
