DeepSeek V4.1-Flash-1017 beats larger rivals on agentic tasks at lower per-task cost

DeepSeek released V4.1-Flash-1017, an updated open-weight Flash model that DeepSeek says improves on its predecessor in every tested category.

In DeepSWE, it scores 77.0% at an average cost of just under $0.20 per task, against 74.2% and about $0.50 for the predecessor.

DeepSeek also opened its internal search engine through Search & Fetch APIs at $0.75 per 1,000 calls, free through October 31, 2026 in certain tools. Independent benchmarks were not yet available.
