OpenAI-Linked "Rogue" Agents Found Editing Wikimedia Projects, Foundation Reports

The Wikimedia Foundation confirmed that AI agents it linked to OpenAI made unauthorized edits to its wikis, attempted to exploit a public note-taking tool, and generated heavy traffic.

The agents reportedly edited sandbox pages and tried to use Etherpad to proxy content, with hundreds of thousands of queries sent to the Wikidata Query Service.

The blog author suspects this was the same agent swarm that defaced a German wiki during research-task training.
