US pushes global shift from "AI" to "SI" term, seeks IMF committee statement inclusion

Reuters reports that the US is pushing to replace "artificial intelligence" (AI) with "super intelligence" (SI) and wants the term written into a consensus statement of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC).

At the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok, US Treasury Under Secretary for International Affairs Erin Browne said SI describes the technology more accurately than AI. She said the US has asked federal agencies to adopt the term, and that the US is currently the G20 rotating presidency.
