Women are being left behind in the booming AI industry, LinkedIn data shows
AIWomen made up about a quarter of new AI-role hires in the past year, versus 50% of non-AI hires, according to a LinkedIn report, and just 13% of AI executive hires. Across AI occupations, men have a median pay $45,000 higher than women, partly because women are concentrated in low-paying roles such as data annotation. Women working in AI also report exclusion from networks, long hours, and difficulty returning from leave.
