Mistral CEO responds to Ecosia dropping Mistral for open-source models including Chinese ones

Ecosia, the search engine, has dropped Mistral as an AI partner in favor of open-source models, including Chinese ones.

Mistral CEO Arthur Mensch responded on X, saying Mistral also serves those models and questioning whether using nuclear energy is a real blocker for Ecosia. His reply is his own response to the decision; the reports reviewed here do not establish Ecosia's stated reasons for the switch.
