## Summary

Ai2 is launching a climate modeling initiative backed by multimillion-dollar, three-year funding from Google.org, with technical support from Google Research. The project will develop NeuralGCM+, an open-source model that simulates the atmosphere and ocean together to make climate projections faster and more reliable. Ai2 will focus on climate trends over years to decades, building on Google Research's NeuralGCM, which currently targets forecasts over weeks to months.
