## Summary

Rep. Don Beyer is planning to create a House Select Committee on AI, a panel that House Democrats now have the votes to grant subpoena power and legislative authority. According to Cristiano Lima-Strong's reporting, Beyer is working with Rep. Jacobs on a draft bill to roll out this year for potential first-quarter action. Beyer has made his case for the committee despite recent Democratic election wins, which he says have not diminished the chance for AI bipartisanship.
