## Summary

Google DeepMind and the World Resources Institute have built ForTy, a global map that classifies the world's land into six forest and land-use classes at 10-meter resolution for 2020. The map scored 90.2 percent overall in an expert check, but it identified only about half of tree crops and planted forests and 60 percent of plantations. The authors say it is intended to help companies meet EU deforestation rules, and the dataset and code are freely available.
