## Summary

Reddit CEO Steve Huffman says Reddit lost more than one million Google search referrals per week in October, blaming AI Overviews and AI Mode. He said AI Mode does not drive traffic to Reddit or to anyone else he knows of. Reddit's shares fell over 25 percent despite strong earnings, and the company is testing login walls outside the U.S.

## Why it matters

The report links Google's AI Mode to a measured drop in Reddit's search referrals, showing how AI search changes traffic for web publishers that rely on Google.
