## Summary

Former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer told the New York Times that gender "fades into the background" in tech and that "passion" is a gender-neutralizing force. The article contrasts this with the cancellation of Grace Hopper Celebration 2026, which organizers said drew registrations and sponsorships below the level needed to cover operating expenses.
